These changes will have different impacts for undergraduate and graduate students. You can read the full news release here.

We know this announcement is concerning news and that you will have questions. You can read our frequently asked questions to get further information.

International students are an important part of our community, and we remain committed to supporting all international students throughout their time at Laurier. Our services and support help our students in many ways, including:

  • A guaranteed spot in residence for undergraduate students in first year at the Waterloo or Brantford campuses (not currently available for Milton).
  • Increased entrance scholarships and a guarantee on how much tuition will increase each year for undergraduate students.
  • Employment support for part-time work for all international students while they are at Laurier and lifetime support at our Career Centre for future career needs.
  • Immigration advising to ensure all international students understand and meet the most current immigration requirements.
  • Health and wellness services to ensure students have the support they need during times of uncertainty.

We will continue to support all future and current international students with questions and concerns related to study permits and these changes. If you have questions, please contact us at international@wlu.ca or book an appointment with an enrolment advisor.
