Josephine McMurray

Assistant Professor, Wilfrid Laurier University

Professor McMurray holds a MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and a PhD in Public Health and Health Systems from the University of Waterloo

Her general research interests include healthcare system integration and innovation, quality and patient experience improvement, and system performance measurement.

Paul Stolee

Professor, University of Waterloo

Professor Paul Stolee leads the Geriatric Health Systems Research Group at the University of Waterloo, where he is on faculty in the School of Public Health Sciences. He also directs the University of Waterloo Network for Aging Research. Professor Stolee’s experience in research and planning in geriatrics includes work in academic, government and community settings.

His Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)-funded research program – “InfoRehab” – investigated the use of health information and health information systems in the rehabilitation of older person. This work led to increased research interest in the challenges experienced by older patients as they transition across care settings, in more meaningful engagement of older adults in healthcare decision-making, and in developing a stronger role for primary care in risk screening and care coordination.

Heather McNeil

Postdoctoral Fellow, Wilfrid Laurier University

Heather McNeil completed her PhD in Health, Aging and Wellbeing from the University of Waterloo. She has expertise in patient and community engagement, health innovation for older adults, patient experience, mixed methods, and knowledge translation and exchange.

Heather is passionate about improving quality of life for older adults and is interested in how innovation can support this.

Jacobi Elliott

Adjunct Associate Professor, University of Waterloo

Jacobi Elliott completed her PhD under the supervision of Professor Stolee. She currently holds an adjunct associate professor appointment with the University of Waterloo, School of Public Health Sciences. Jacobi has extensive experience with qualitative, evaluation, and case study research methods. Areas of expertise include care transitions, patient and family engagement, health care service research, and knowledge translation and exchange.
