This year has been – to use the word one more time – unprecedented.
But what an incredible Laurier community we are a part of. From the donor-supported COVID-19 Emergency Fund, student awards and the gift of PPE to public health organizations to online health and learning supports, research into the impacts of COVID-19 and small acts of every day kindness, we are coming through the pandemic #StrongerTogether.
We are ready to take on 2021!
If you’re looking for a way to make a positive impact in 2021, consider a donation to Laurier before December 31 and earn a 2020 tax receipt.
Your donation can help keep students healthy and successful during the coming year, build Laurier programming and research, or support the university’s Making Space for Music capital campaign, which currently features a matching gift opportunity.
The easiest way to ensure you receive a year-end giving credit is to make a gift online. Online gifts must be received by midnight on Dec. 31, 2020 to qualify for a 2020 tax receipt.
If you are making a gift by cheque, your cheque must be dated before Dec. 31, 2020 and the envelope must be postmarked or date-stamped no later than Dec. 31, 2020 to be eligible for a 2020 tax receipt.
Cheques should be made out to Wilfrid Laurier University and mailed to:
Wilfrid Laurier University
Development and Alumni Relations, Alumni Hall
75 University Avenue West
Waterloo, ON N2L 3C5
If you are making your gift in person, please note that the university closes for the holiday season Dec. 23 at 4:30 p.m., re-opening Jan. 6, 2021. For your convenience, there is a drop box located at the main entrance of Alumni Hall (to the left of the doors) on the Waterloo campus.
If you are making a gift of stock, the gift must be signed over via brokers on or before Dec. 31 in order to receive a 2020 tax receipt. To make a gift of stock, fill out the form for the donation of securities.
If you have questions about your donation or require information during the holiday period, please contact Shelly Baker, director of Advancement Services, at 519.884.1970 x3866 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
