I received my doctorate (DPhil) in political science from the University of Augsburg, Germany, in 2008 and my diploma (master’s degree-equivalent) in political science from the University of Augsburg, Germany, in 2001.
Prior to joining Laurier, I was assistant professor at the Technische Universität Darmstadt (2010-2013) and the FernUniversität in Hagen (2008-2010) as well as research assistant and lecturer at Universität Augsburg (2003-2008).
My research examines how federal systems and more encompassing multilevel spaces of political and economic integration – like the European Union and North America – adjust to new international and domestic challenges. My current work focuses on
