Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

I received a PhD in Political Science from Yale University, an MA in International Affairs from Carleton University, and a BA (Honors) from McGill University.
Prior to joining Laurier, I taught in the political science department at Carleton University and was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Business School.
My research focuses on the intersections between political economy and culture. My publications span the areas of cultural policy, visual culture, cultural economy and psychoanalytical theory. My book, Eros and Economy: Jung, Deleuze, Sexual Difference focuses on the gendered nature of discourses in aesthetics and political economy, while in the past I have explored topics such as the creative city, the cosmopolitan nature of Canadian cultural policy and design discourses.
I am willing to supervise graduate students in the areas of cultural economy, art, architecture, the museum, design discourses, cultural policy and the creative city.
